Roku ran into the forest to escape.

Roku went into hiding in the forest.
Still, he couldn’t give up, so he showed up in town every so often.
And then, Roku realized.
He realized that if he could use this ability to turn into various things and turn into a human, they would play with him.
Roku found many people and transformed himself into them.
Some people were surprised, some were happy, some were angry…

こどもたちの放ったその一の一つが、ロクの体に当たった。

ロクは逃げるように森の中へと駆け出した。
どうして？
どうして遊んでくれないの？
耳があるから？
しっぽがあるから？
ただ遊びたいだけなのに…
ロクは森の中に身を潜めた。
それでも諦めきれず、度々町へと姿を現した。
そして、ロクは気付いた。
色んなものに化けるこの能力、この力で人間に化けたら遊んでくれることに。
ロクはたくさんの人間を見つけては、その人に化けた。
びっくりする人、喜ぶ人、怒る人…
反応は様々だったが、話を聞いてもらえることが嬉しかった。
でも、最後に正体を知ると、みんな離れていってしまった。
ロクはどんなに頑張っても受け入れて貰えないんだ… ロクの小さな胸に悲しみがじわじわと広がっていった。
